After graduating from Washington State University and Eastern Washington University, Mike entered the Residential Real Estate Business in Spokane, Washington in 1975. In 1980 he relocated to Seattle, Washington and began his Insurance Career with Safeco Insurance Company in the Claims Department becoming the first “Claims Specialist” to be designated by the company. In 1988 he left Safeco Insurance Company to re-establish his Professional Sales Career as an Account Executive with a local Independent Insurance Agency. In 1992 Mike and Margarita opened their own start-up Independent Agency.
Mike is very proud of the consistency and stability he has had in his life as evidenced by the fact he has been married to Margarita for 28 years, lived in the same house, they built, for 26 years and they have been in business together for 20 years. Mike has also held the Certified Insurance Counselor designation for 25 years. This consistency, stability and insurance experience provides Mike with the necessary tools to make informed and sound analysis of available Insurance Products and insure his clients are fully informed on the Insurance Products that he recommends.
The staff at Insurance Services of Washington consistently receives “Superior Customer Service” awards and recognition as result of their training and experience. Mike firmly believes “you never get a second chance to make a first impression” and as result has built meaning and lasting
Rebecca has been around Insurance before she was born in 1984. Her parents, Mike and Margarita, met while working at Safeco Insurance Company in Redmond, Washington in 1983. The Insurance Business has always played a large role in her life.
Rebecca began working for the family business, part time in 2000, while finishing up her high school education at Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Washington. In 2002 she applied and was accepted to the Business School at the University of Washington. While attending college she worked on and off at Insurance Services of Washington and became a licensed agent. After graduating on the Dean’s List in 2006, with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Spanish, she began looking for a career other than insurance, but the family business kept pulling her back.
In 2007 she began working full time for Insurance Services of Washington as an Agent and Personal Lines Account Manager. She is now a Commercial Lines Account Manager, Licensed Life Agent and is moving towards taking over Insurance Services of Washington within the next few years.
Debra was born and raised on the Sammamish Plateau. While growing up she was actively involved in her local community through girl scouts, participation in local sports teams, charity events, volunteering and youth group programs such as Young Life. She continues to be actively involved in Young Life as a Youth Leader.
Debra graduated from Eastlake High School in 2005. During High School Debra held part-time jobs that involved Customer Service and Inside Sales. After High School graduation Debra decided to forgo college and enter the working world full-time. She has held several jobs that required attention to detail, organizational skills and time management. She has been an Office Manager for a local Landscape Company, Receptionist for a Regional Mortgage Brokerage Firm, full-time Nanny to two local families and part-time providing Marketing Services for Insurance Services of Washington, Inc. Debra truly understands and believes “if the job is worth doing, it is worth doing well”.
In 2011 Debra decided to pursue a full-time career with Insurance Services of Washington. She currently is providing Marketing and Customer Service for the agency. D
Dina has been involved in insurance her entire life. He father, Gordon Smith, first started his career in the Insurance Business in 1959 and opened his own Independent Insurance Agency in 1964.
Dina graduated from Shoreline High School in 1980. After high school she attended Edmonds Community College graduating with a degree in Business Management in 1982. Prior to coming to work in the family business, Alpine Insurance Agency, Dina worked for Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska specializing, in Managed Health Care Contracts.
Dina has been with Alpine Insurance since 1996. While with Alpine. Her main focus has been and continues to be Personal Lines as an Account Manager. Dina recently became a Licensed Property and Casualty Agent and has become more proactive in her “Sales Career”. Dina truly cares about your personal situation and will ask lots of questions. She strives to personalize an insurance policy that meets your individual needs.
Brandon was born and raised in Montana and graduated from Billings Central Catholic high school. He was accepted to the University of Washington and graduated in 2010 with his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Brandon started his professional career in the real estate industry and then moved to personal and business banking.
In 2015, Brandon started his insurance career and has enjoyed the process of helping give people the peace of mind that the most important aspects of their life are insured and protected.
In his free time Brandon enjoys taking his dog Kobe on hikes, spending time with family and friends, Saturdays at Husky Stadium, and planning his next vacation.
Daniela was born and raised in California for half her life. The other half thus far, she grew up in beautiful British Columbia. She studied and practiced both Personal and Commercial Lines insurance in Canada. She is both excited and passionate about helping clients with their insurance needs. Her transition from Canadian insurance to American insurance has been fairly easy.
Starting a new adventure and meeting new clients south of her natural border is something she is excited about.
In her free time Daniela likes painting pottery and connecting with new friends.
Margarita was born and raised in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. The majority of her family still lives in this area of Mexico and she visits them often. She came to the United States in 1980 and began her insurance career in 1982 with Safeco Insurance Company’s Claims Department in Redmond, Washington. While working for the Claims Department she met Mike Haller. They were married in 1983 and have two beautiful girls, Rebecca and Debra, who now work in the agency.
While in Redmond, Margarita worked in the Claims Department mail room, as a Towing and Glass Claim adjuster and as a Unit Clerk for the Property Claims Department. In 1984 she was transferred to Safeco Home Office where she helped with the automation of the company. In 1986 she transferred back to Redmond and became an Underwriter Assistant.
In 1987 she decided to become a “stay at home” mom. After staying at home caring for the children for two years she decided to go back to work. In 1989 she was hired by the same Agency where Mike worked. In 1992 Margarita and Mike opened their own agency. Initially she handled Agency Administration and Personal Lines Servicing for the agency. Margarita continues to work in the daily operations of the agency handling Accounting and Agency Administration.
Erin was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. After graduating from South Kitsap High School, she attended Western Washington University and obtained an Associate Arts Degree from Seattle Central Community College. She then took time off to raise her family and has resided in Puyallup since 1999.
By 2005, she completed a paralegal program and also became a Licensed Property and Casualty, Life and Health Agent. She has been affiliated as a licensed agent and producer with Alpine Insurance for five years and most recently with Insurance Services of Washington, Inc.
While specializing in all aspects of the Insurance Industry her main focus lays with Life and Health Insurance. Working with Medicare beneficiaries has been and continues to be a passion of Erin’s and she thoroughly enjoys working with and assisting the “our older generation”. She provides in-home appointments and community meetings throughout the Puget Sound Region.
Erin loves to see what a difference one person can make when reviewing and analyzing the needs of prospects and clients. She sees this as a chance to get to know the person on a personal level and let them know they are not and will never be treated
Anthony Sanelli is a benefits specialist and member of the Sanelli Insurance team. After growing up in Carnation Washington, Anthony attended Central Washington University where he was awarded “Management Student of the Year and graduated at the top of his class from Central Washington’s College of Business. As a four year varsity lettermen in baseball he was also nominated by his teammates as “Team Captain” and received all conference honors. Anthony completed the Pacific Crest Trail in 2011 before getting his insurance licence. Anthony is an avid outdoor enthusiast and passionate about sports. His multidimensional skills allow him to connect with all types of people and he’s continuously striving to improve not just himself, but those around him. He is excited to be a part of the team and looks to continue growing the business into the future. Anthony will be focusing on Group Medical/ Dental/ Benefits Packages, Individual Medical / Dental, Medicare and Life Insurance Policies.
